INTEGRITY

I realized the values of hard work and dedication from when I was young. To become an Eagle Scout, at 16 I worked with troubled youths to help them better communicate, a life lesson I use today to help on build trust and resolve conflicts throughout the many communities of District 7.

For the past 25 years, I have traveled the country as a referee for top men’s and women’s volleyball matches, a job which required a high level of integrity and judgment. I’ve been respected enough by my peers that I was chosen to officiate at the 1996 Olympics Games as well as the Para-Olympics and the following Goodwill Games.

Since retiring from officiating, I’ve become extremely active in a number of local civic and service organizations. As the Lawrenceville’s Rotary club president for the past two years, I have worked to grow membership, assisted in sponsoring international programs, developed a youth club at Career Connection Charter School called Interact, and supported numerous neighborhood, non-profit groups.

Next year, I will serve as an assistant district governor. The Rotary motto “SERVICE ABOVE SELF” is an ideal that has always been a core value throughout my life and one I will continue to pursue my while helping to bring people from around the world a little closer together.
